Indications for Hyperbaric Oxygen
Hyperbaric Oxygen is considered a medication, just like any other.
It has its own dosage, concentration, and duration of action, and requires a medical indication and prescription for its use.
Our Medical Guidelines and Patient Safety Standards
As part of our commitment to high-quality care and patient safety, we strictly follow internationally recognized guidelines for hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
In our department, we adhere to the approved indications set by the European Committee for Hyperbaric Medicine (ECHM) and the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS).
For certain specific cases, we may also refer to guidelines from other national or international hyperbaric and diving medicine associations, when doing so is in the best interest of the patient.
"Red indications" are classified as medical emergencies and must be treated immediately.
