How to access this service
This service can only be activated through high-priority referrals from physicians in the emergency departments of the country.
If you think that you require this service, you should seek for medical assistance in the nearest emergency department or by calling 112.
Steps

If hyperbaric treatment is indicated, the ED team will contact the hyperbaric specialist.

A medical evaluation will be conducted in the ED to determine the appropriate hyperbaric protocol and rule out contraindications.

Additional laboratory tests may be required before and/or after the treatment.
EMERGENCY INDICATIONS
• Air or gas embolism
• Carbon Monoxide poisoning
• Clostridial myositis and myonecrosis (gas gangrene)
• Crush injury, compartment syndrome, and other acute traumatic ischemias
• Necrotizing soft tissue infections
• Arterial insufficiencies (central retinal artery occlusion)
