Level 1 - Tender

Hyperbaric Chamber Tender

The Inside Operator (Tender) plays an important role in any hyperbaric facility with a multiplace chamber. This level is focused on the theory basis that a health care professional requires in order to take care of patients under pressure, hands-on practice and real time simulations scenarios. 

 

  • Prerequisites: Physician, Nurse, Paramedic, EMT-A

  • Modality: Theory 50% + Practice 50%

  • Total Duration: 30 hours

    • Theory: ​15 h

    • Practice: 15 h

Level 2 - Operator

Hyperbaric Chamber Life-Support Operator

This level covers the knowledge and skills required for the outside chamber operator. This is one of the most critical positions at the moment of a treatment, since it is a life support position for all the occupants, responsible for the pressure and execute the treatment.

  • Prerequisites: Tender Theory

  • Modality: Theory 50% + Practice 50%

  • Total Duration: 30 hours

    • Theory: ​15 h

    • Practice: 15 h

Level 3 - Advanced Operator

 

Hyperbaric Chamber Advanced Operator

The Advanced Chamber Operator has the knowledge of deep diving tables and those which require special gases, also the skills to perform complex operations in the hyperbaric chamber. Previous experience as an operator is required to achieve this certification level. 

  • Prerequisites: Operator 

  • Modality: Theory 15% + Practice 85%

  • Total Duration: 210 hours

    • Theory: ​30 h

    • Practice: 180 h

 

Level M - Medical

Focused on clinical knowledge and patient assessment in hyperbaric and diving medicine.  Different versions are available depending on the students (for physicians, nurses, pre-hospital providers, physiotherapists or divers)

Introduction for Healthcare

It is a brief introduction to the hyperbaric and dive medicine, including mechanisms of action and the most popular indications. The content can be adapted to the public depending on the profession and specialty of the participants

  • Prerequisites: Healthcare professional, diver

  • Modality: Theory 100%

  • Total Duration: ​3-5 hours

    • Theory: 3-5 h​

    • Practice: 0 h

Introduction for Divers

It is a brief introduction to the hyperbaric and dive medicine, including mechanisms of action and the most popular indications. The content is designed for professional divers 

  • Prerequisites: Healthcare professional, diver

  • Modality: Theory 100%

  • Total Duration: ​2 hours

    • Theory: 2 h​

    • Practice: 0 h

Provider

It is part of the full training program designed for physicians, nurses or paramedics working in a hyperbaric medicine center.

 

  • Prerequisites: Tender

  • Modality: Theory 20% + Practice 80%

  • Total Duration: 90 hours

    • Theory: ​15 h

Level T - Technical

Hyperbaric Chamber Basic Maintenance Provider

This level covers the knowledge and skills required for those involved in a daily or full time basis in a hyperbaric center, it's a basis fundamental in the regular maintenance that a multiplace hyperbaric chamber requires. 

  • Prerequisites: None

  • Modality: Theory xx% + Practice xx%

  • Total Duration: xx hours

Hyperbaric Chamber Technician

This level covers an advanced knowledge and extensive skills to be able to perform maintenance and basic reparations to a multiplace hyperbaric chamber, designed for those responsible for the regular maintenance of specific equipment. 

  • Prerequisites: Basic Maintenance Provider + Operator Level 2 + 50 hrs experience in maintenance + Acrylic Windows Course + Background experience in plumbing, safety officer, mechanic or a previous training in maintenance from another agency. 

  • Modality: Theory xx% + Practice xx%
